Coach's Overall Assessment

This was a game you could have won. Your mechanical execution on Syndra is solid for Gold II — you hit key abilities and had some great picks. The main issues are trading patterns in lane, wave management before recalls, and team fight positioning. These are the exact mistakes that keep players hardstuck in Gold, and they're all fixable with awareness.

I've flagged 11 key moments below with timestamps. Focus on the top 3 priorities I've listed at the end — you'll see results within 15-20 games if you actively practice them.

Timestamped Notes

Every key moment broken down with specific, actionable advice

Early Game (0:00 – 8:00)

1:25Key TipLeash & Level 1 Arrival

You gave a 3-auto leash to your jungler — that's fine. But you arrived to lane at 1:32, and Ahri was already level 2 from the first wave. Always count minions. When you're late, she hits 2 first and can all-in with Charm. Walk to lane earlier or limit your leash to 2 autos.

3:42MistakeBad Trade Into Ahri

You walked up to Q-W Ahri while your E (Scatter the Weak) was on a 6-second cooldown. She still had Charm up. Without your only disengage tool, you took a full Q+W+Electrocute combo and lost 40% HP.

The fix: Track your E cooldown like it's your lifeline. On Syndra, you only trade when E is available — it's your safety net AND your combo extender. Set up a mental rule: "No E, no trade."

4:58Good PlayGood Ward Timing

Nice ward on the pixel brush at 4:58 right as the enemy jungler showed bot. This gave you full vision for the next 60 seconds and let you play aggressive. Keep doing this — warding when you have information on the enemy jungler is the highest value.

6:30MistakeRecall Timing — Wave State

You recalled with a slow push building toward you (3 caster minions + incoming wave). This means you lost ~12 CS to tower while walking back (~350g and a full level of XP).

The fix: Before recalling, always hard-shove the wave into the enemy tower. Use Q+W to clear casters, then recall. The tower kills your minions, so the wave "resets" and you lose nothing. This is the single biggest improvement you can make — proper recall timing is worth 500+ gold per game in Gold elo.

Mid Game (8:00 – 20:00)

9:15Key TipMissed Roam Opportunity

You shoved mid and then stood in lane waiting for the next wave for 12 seconds. Your bot lane was being ganked and you had Tier 1 boots + ult. A roam here is free — even just walking to river forces the enemy jungler to back off.

Rule of thumb: After shoving mid, if nothing is happening, look bot/top. Can you impact a fight? Walk there. Can't? Farm raptors or place a deep ward. Never just stand mid waiting.

12:40Good PlaySolo Kill — Great Combo

Beautiful E-Q-W-R combo to delete Ahri when she over-stepped. You held your E until she used Charm first, then punished. This is exactly the patience I want to see. Your Syndra mechanics are not the problem — your decision-making around when to use them is what we're fixing.

14:00MistakeOverstaying Bot After Tower

Your team took bot outer tower and you stayed bot farming for 3 more waves (~200g). During this time, the enemy team took Herald and mid tower (~550g in global gold for them). Net result: you gained 200g but your team lost 550g in map control.

After an outer tower falls, rotate mid immediately. Mid lane is the most impactful lane to control — it gives access to both jungles and every objective. This is the #1 macro mistake in Gold-Plat elo.

18:30Key TipVision Setup Before Dragon

Dragon spawns at 20:00 and you placed zero control wards in the river. You have 2 control wards in inventory. Place one in dragon pit brush at 19:00 and one in the blast cone brush. Objective vision setup should start 60-90 seconds before spawn.

Late Game (20:00+)

22:15MistakeFlash Forward in Dragon Fight

Dragon fight — you Flash forward onto their backline as Syndra. Problem: enemy Zed still has ult and is alive. He immediately R's you and you die before casting a single ability. Your team then loses the 4v4 and dragon.

Syndra's job in team fights is to stay back and peel. You are the primary damage source. Your survival = team's win condition. Never Flash forward unless Zed is dead or has used R already. Play behind your frontline, spam Q-W from max range, and save E for self-peel.

25:40Good PlayGood Side Lane Pressure

You pushed out bot wave before grouping for Baron. This is correct macro — you create a slow push that the enemy has to answer, giving your team either a numbers advantage or free tower damage. More of this please.

27:10MistakeFinal Fight Positioning

Last fight at Baron — you were standing in front of your Leona. As a mage carry, you should always be positioned behind your frontline. Ahri landed Charm on you first because you were the closest target. If you stand behind Leona, she eats the Charm and you get a free 3-second DPS window.

Before & After Insights

The specific habit changes from this review — old patterns vs. what the coach recommends

Before

Recall whenever HP is low, regardless of wave state. Losing 8-12 CS per recall to tower.

Recalls+500g/game
After

Hard-shove with Q+W before every recall. Wave resets, zero CS lost. +500g per game.

Before

Walk up for trades whenever abilities are off cooldown. No regard for E (Scatter the Weak) availability.

Trading60%+ win rate
After

Only trade when E is available as a safety net. 'No E, no trade' rule eliminates 80% of bad trades.

Before

Flash forward onto enemy backline. Die first in fights. Team loses 4v5.

Teamfights-3 deaths/game
After

Stay behind frontline. Spam Q-W from max range. Save E for self-peel. Survive to deal full DPS.

Before

Overstay in side lanes after taking tower. Stand mid waiting for waves. No proactive movement.

Macro+350g swing
After

Rotate mid after outer towers fall. Roam when wave is shoved. Always be doing something productive.

Before

Random ward placements. No control wards before objectives. Vision score: 18.

Vision2x vision
After

Ward on jungle intel. Control wards 60-90s before objective spawn. Target vision score: 30+.

Top 3 Priority Improvements

Focus on these in your next 15-20 games for the fastest rank gains

1

Fix Your Recall Timing

~500g saved per game

Always hard-shove the wave before backing. Use Q+W on casters, then recall. This alone will save you 300-500g per game that you're currently losing to tower. Practice this every single game until it's automatic.

2

Team Fight Positioning

2-3 fewer deaths per game

Stay behind your frontline. Never Flash forward unless the main threat (assassin) is dead or has used cooldowns. Your job on Syndra is to deal consistent damage from max range, not to make hero plays. Let your frontline engage.

3

Track Cooldowns Before Trading

Win 60%+ more trades

No E = no trade. Make this your mantra on Syndra. Before walking up for any trade in lane, check: do I have E available? If not, farm safely and wait. This applies to any champion — know which ability is your 'safety net' and never trade without it.

Coach's Final Note

Good news: your mechanics are not the problem. You can pilot Syndra well enough to climb — that solo kill at 12:40 proved it. What's holding you back is decision-making, and that's the easiest thing to fix because it doesn't require faster reflexes or more games. It requires awareness.

Print out the three priorities above (seriously, print them) and tape them next to your monitor. Before every recall, glance at #1. Before every trade, glance at #3. In teamfights, repeat "stay behind frontline" in your head.

15-20 games of focused practice on these three things and you'll be Gold I minimum. Probably Plat IV. I've seen it dozens of times with players at your skill level.
